Christmas countdown task 2 ( Christmas wrapping paper )

This week the teachers put up a challenge called the Christmas countdown. You had to choose a task to do and do it, there were also three different levels Rudolf level, Elf level, and the Santa level. I choose to do the Christmas wrapping paper Rudolf level. I created a Christmas tree wrapping paper with stars on it and a glittery background. It was pretty easy to make this wrapping paper because I only made Christmas trees with triangles and rectangles and I used star shapes for the stars in the background.

Build it on a dry surface and where the wind can't hit it
Use tinder, kindling and dry logs to create a fire
Make you fire small so that it uses minimum fule

Basic first aid:
Bandages, tweezers, creams, scissors, Benadryl ( etc )
Always carry a first aid kit no matter where and you are going
To prevent anyone from getting hurt don't run and wear protective gear ( if on bike etc )

Shelter Building Task 3 ( building a tent )

The hardest part was trying to put the tent poles in the right place so that the tent would actually arch up the way it is sposed to.

The thing that worked well the most was that we all worked together so that the tent was build properly.

I learned that you actually have to read the instructions. (HOW TO READ INSTRUCTIONS PROPLRLEY).

I hope that we will be able to build another tent again because it was so fun.

Chapter Chat Term 4 Week 3

This week for Chapter Chat I did research center. The task for the research center this week was that you had to research topics of Albinism, Ear Drums or Sunflower seeds. I researched sunflower seeds Because in the book that we are reading ( Ghost ) the main character eats sunflower seeds. I did a poster of sunflower seeds and sunflowers hope you like it.

Shelter building Task 2

The shelters that we are going to make will be the Tarp shelter, an easy shelter to make but
still very suitable to sleep in. We reckon that it could have a few people to sleep in. And also
the teepee because it is easy and suitable to build and sleep in.

What are their key features and why we have chosen to build them? We all agreed on
these two huts to build ( AN A-FRAME & TARP TEEPEE ). We chose to build the TARP
because it looks like it has a lot of space and looks easy and quick to make. We chose
to build the TARP (Teepee) Because we think that more than two people will be able to fit in
it, although it might be a bit challenging to make.

Shelter Building Task 1

Shelter Building

Where is the best place to build a shelter: The best place is on high ground and close to a water supply like a river but far enough away so that you don't attract bugs.

What does shelter need to protect you from: Your shelter needs to protect you from animals like snakes and also floods so it is best to build on high grounds. You also need to watch out for bugs and bad weather so you need warmth from your shelter and bring some bug spray.

What materials do you need to build a shelter: You will need Sticks, Trees ( that are in the bush ), Ferns, Tarp ( if you bring it with you ), Rope ( if you bring it with you ), Rocks,

What are the pros and cons of sleeping in a bush shelter: Some Pros are spending time with Nature and getting to see all the beautiful plants, flowers, and trees. Going fishing, experiencing sleeping outside and experiencing all the easy and hard tasks on how to make a shelter. Some Cons are that you can get bitten by mosquitoes and that you might need to watch out for the weather because it could rain, there could be thunder and lightning and the could be strong winds or it could be very hot and humid.
